Researchers in Canada and the US developed engineered blood clots that can be made in minutes using patient or donor blood.

The custom clots were tested in lab experiments and rat models, where they proved stronger and more adhesive than natural clots.

The approach could improve emergency bleeding control for surgery, trauma, and clotting disorders, but it has only been shown in animals so far.
