Apple’s global F1 ambitions hit roadblock as Sky extends U.K. and Italy rights

Apple’s push to expand Formula One streaming rights beyond the U.S. has hit a roadblock in Europe.

Sky renewed F1 rights in the U.K. through 2034 and in Italy through 2032 for about £1 billion.

Because F1 sells rights market by market, Apple would need separate deals country by country.

The renewals lock up two major markets and narrow Apple’s near-term path to a broader F1 deal.
