Xreal, Google’s smartglasses partner, thinks it has finally mastered this notoriously tricky industry

Xreal unveiled Project Aura at Google I/O, a wired smart-glasses system with OLED displays and a separate puck computer.

The device is aimed at developers for now, but Xreal says it could launch commercially later this year.

Aura supports Google Maps, YouTube, web browsing, games, and hand-tracked creative tools.

Xreal is also targeting an IPO before 2026 and says it could break even next year, as smart glasses remain a tough market versus Meta and others.
