Meta Launches 'Instants' App for Sharing Disappearing Photos on Instagram

Meta launched Instants, a new Instagram feature for casual photo sharing that makes images disappear after being viewed or after 24 hours.

The feature supports DM replies, skips editing tools, and stores photos in an archive for up to a year.

Meta is also testing a limited companion camera app in select countries.

The move gives Instagram a built-in ephemeral sharing option and deepens Meta’s competition with Snapchat.
