New Holographic 3D Printing Method Is 70x More Efficient

EPFL researchers improved holographic volumetric 3D printing by directly controlling laser phase inside the printer.

The new system is about 70 times more efficient and can rapidly produce centimeter-scale, cell-compatible structures.

It successfully printed more precise objects, including a life-sized human ear model.

The advance could speed up bioprinted tissues and implant-scale parts for regenerative and reconstructive medicine.
