MS and OpenAI Shift to a Non-Exclusive, “Flexible” Partnership

Microsoft and OpenAI updated their partnership, ending exclusive cloud terms while keeping Microsoft as the main cloud partner.

OpenAI can now offer products on other clouds, but its newest models will still launch first on Azure.

The two companies will keep working together on IP use, revenue sharing, data center expansion, and next-generation silicon.

The move broadens OpenAI’s multi-cloud options while preserving Microsoft’s priority role in the AI stack.
