US chip maker forms South Korean alliance to advance next-gen power conversion

Navitas Semiconductor agreed to license its GeneSiC technology to Magnachip Semiconductor.

The deal gives Magnachip access to Navitas’ supply chain and materials to develop and qualify high-voltage and ultra-high-voltage SiC products in South Korea.

The partnership aims to accelerate Magnachip’s entry into the silicon carbide power device market.

It could broaden supply of advanced SiC chips for energy, industrial, automotive, EV, and grid applications.
