Madrid has just become the spearhead of a technological transformation in Europe: robotaxis

Madrid will launch the EU’s first real robotaxi pilot with paying passengers in the last quarter of the year.

The trial will deploy 50 to 100 Level 5 robotaxis across Madrid and two nearby municipalities, with Uber, Cabify, and Bolt participating.

Testing will begin with human supervision and then move toward driverless operation.

The project is designed to collect data that will help shape future autonomous vehicle regulation in Spain.

If successful, Spain could become a key regulatory and technology reference for autonomous transport in Europe.
