AWS introduces new data center network 'RNG'... 33% higher throughput

AWS has unveiled RNG, a new data center network design, and has already rolled it out to some European facilities.

Compared with traditional fat-tree architectures, RNG adds more server-to-server paths to ease congestion and improve failover routing.

AWS says the design can raise throughput by 33% while improving connection reliability and cost efficiency.

The company also developed Spraypoint and Shufflebox to support the new architecture and plans broader deployment in future cloud sites.
