Rivian sues the US government for ‘full refund’ of Trump tariffs

Rivian has sued the U.S. government in the Court of International Trade to recover tariffs paid under Trump-era IEEPA duties.

The company argues that even though the tariffs were invalidated, the money is not automatically refunded, and it wants full repayment plus interest and legal fees.

The case could shape whether Rivian and other importers can reclaim duties paid under the struck-down policy.

For Rivian alone, the potential refund could be worth tens of millions of dollars.
