AMD announces the industry's first CPU to enter production using TSMC 2nm process technology

AMD says its next EPYC server chip, Venice, is ramping in production on TSMC’s 2nm process in Taiwan, with Arizona production planned later.

The company says Venice can reach up to 256 cores, 1.6 TB/s memory bandwidth, and about 1.7x the performance of Turin.

This gives AMD an early lead on a next-gen manufacturing node for server CPUs, potentially improving efficiency and data center performance.

The move could help AMD strengthen its position against Intel in AI and HPC infrastructure.
