Tokyo Metropolitan Government launches shared generative AI platform "A1" for 60,000 employees

Tokyo has launched full-scale operation of its shared generative AI platform for about 60,000 metropolitan employees.

The platform, named “A1,” was built in-house by the Tokyo Digital Service Bureau and GovTech Tokyo.

It lets staff create and share AI apps with no-code tools based on specific workplace needs.

The initiative is expected to improve operational efficiency and public services, while potentially becoming a reusable digital public good for other municipalities.
