Snowflake launches Cortex AI Gateway to control AI agents and prevent runaway enterprise costs

Snowflake launched Cortex AI Gateway, a centralized control layer for how enterprise AI agents access data, tools, and models.

The gateway is designed to tighten agent-specific trust, identity, and permissions, reducing security risks like prompt injection.

Snowflake also announced security integrations with vendors including 1Password, Aembit, Linx Security, SailPoint, and Saviynt to govern third-party agents too.

The company is positioning itself as the governance layer for enterprise agents, helping companies audit access and curb runaway costs.
