Kalshi fines candidates for betting on their own elections, but one says he wanted to get caught

Kalshi fined and suspended three U.S. election candidates after they placed bets on their own races.

Mark Moran said he did it intentionally to expose prediction markets, while Matt Klein and Ezekiel Enriquez said they broke the rules without meaning to.

Kalshi said new safeguards detected the activity and that more serious cases could be referred to regulators.
