Android’s most powerful app permission could soon come with a much scarier warning

An APK teardown of Android 17 QPR2 Beta 1 found revised warning text for a powerful permission tied to trusted apps and assistants.

The permission could let approved apps view and interact with selected screen content, even while the phone is locked.

Google may also add a separate option for proactive suggestions, plus a PIN-based identity check before pairing.

The clearer wording is meant to help users understand the sensitivity of granting access to on-screen information.
