Energizer Releases Coin Lithium Batteries That Won't Cause Burning If Accidentally Swallowed

Energizer launched Ultimate Child Shield coin lithium batteries designed to reduce burn risk if swallowed.

The batteries also use a saliva-activated blue dye to help caregivers detect accidental ingestion.

The safety feature is available on select 20mm models, including 2032, 2025, and 2016 sizes.

The move aims to lower the risk of serious injuries from coin battery swallowing in children.
