Gemini on Mac can now type what you say and act on what it sees

Google has updated Gemini for Mac with system-wide dictation, triggered by holding the Fn key.

The app also adds an opt-in screen-aware mode that can read the active window and use that context.

With on-screen context, Gemini can summarize text, draft emails, and handle related tasks more intelligently.

The upgrade makes Gemini a stronger Mac-level assistant and may reduce reliance on separate AI typing tools.

It also helps Google compete more directly with Apple as Siri’s major upgrades remain delayed.
