Dragon Quest 40th Anniversary: All News and Game Reveals

Square Enix’s Dragon Quest 40th-anniversary livestream outlined the franchise’s near-term roadmap with new announcements and a Switch 2 release.

Dragon Quest 12 now has the subtitle Beyond Dreams, but the team said development was restarted and the game is still delayed.

A new spinoff, Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World, was announced, while Dragon Quest 11 S: Definitive Edition lands on Switch 2 on Sept. 24.

Square Enix confirmed there will be no save transfer from the original Switch version to the Switch 2 release.
