Huawei announced it has connected 170 million people in remote areas, exceeding its ITU P2C pledge of 120 million by 2025.

The announcement was made by Yang Chaobin at Huawei's TECH Cares Forum in Barcelona, attended by about 80 guests.

Huawei said its RuralCow solution and Skills on Wheels program helped expand rural connectivity and digital skills.

Partners including MTN and ITU representatives praised the collaborative effort and noted continued joint work.
