Apple iOS 18.7.7 Unprecedented New iPhone Software: Should You Upgrade?

Apple released iOS 18.7.7 to address a public exploit called DarkSword.

The update was issued alongside iOS 26.4 and initially targeted iPhone XS, XS Max and XR users.

Apple widened iOS 18.7.7 availability to iPhones that remained on iOS 18 to close the vulnerability.

Users can install iOS 18.7.7 via Settings → General → Software Update.
