Marathon's Future Includes Duo Queues, More PvE Modes And Better Onboarding

Bungie outlined a Marathon roadmap aimed at reducing early friction and widening the game’s appeal.

Planned updates include a rotating duos queue, two experimental modes with more PvE, and better onboarding for new players.

The studio also plans new zones, an exfil mechanic change, and continued development through 2027.

The moves suggest Bungie is trying to improve retention and response for the live-service shooter after a weak reception.
