Sony Is Raising the Price of Playing Multiplayer Games Online on PlayStation 5

Sony will raise PlayStation Plus Essential prices for new subscribers in select regions starting May 20.

The monthly plan rises to $10.99 and the 3-month plan to $27.99, while the annual subscription stays at $80.

Existing subscribers are generally protected unless they change plans or let their membership lapse, with exceptions in Turkey and India.

The move makes PS5 online multiplayer access more expensive and adds to pricing pressure across Sony’s gaming business.
