The White House weighs whether Anthropic's Mythos is too valuable for the federal government to refuse

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei is meeting White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles to break a standoff over federal access to Mythos, a Claude model pitched as strong in cyber defense.

Anthropic previously sued the Department of War after being blacklisted for refusing to give unrestricted model access.

US agencies including intelligence services, CISA, the Treasury Department, and the White House budget office have shown interest in the system.

The talks could open access for federal cyber defense work while shaping government rules on AI security, procurement, and competition with China.

The European Union is also separately negotiating access to the model.
