Health data giant CareCloud says hackers accessed patients’ medical records

CareCloud detected unauthorized access to one of its six patient record environments on March 16.

Hackers had access to the medical records storage for more than eight hours, and it is not yet known if data was exfiltrated.

CareCloud restored systems the same day, hired an external cybersecurity firm, and disclosed the incident to the SEC on March 24.
