New Siri Features Absent From iOS 26.5 Beta, Likely Pushed to iOS 27 in September

The iOS 26.5 beta released today contains no new Apple Intelligence Siri functionality.

Apple had targeted iOS 26.4 for new Siri capabilities, but Mark Gurman says that goal was missed due to ongoing accuracy issues.

Engineers used iOS 26.5 for internal Siri testing; features could appear in a later 26.5 beta, though that's looking less likely.

Apple originally planned to ship the Apple Intelligence Siri set in an iOS 26 update in 2025 but announced a spring 2025 delay, saying Siri wasn't ready.

The public is expected to get the fuller Siri — including a standalone chatbot app and the complete Apple Intelligence feature set — with iOS 27 in September 2026.
