University of Barcelona researchers built PACA, an open-access web tool that converts modern coordinates into ancient paleocoordinates.

Users can upload present-day locations and geological ages, then quickly reconstruct ancient positions and compare up to five plate models.

The tool integrates with palaeoverse and GPlates, includes source code and conversion scripts, and supports table exports plus 3D map visualization.

By lowering the technical barrier, PACA helps researchers and educators analyze fossils and geologic data while estimating model uncertainty.
