DARPA's orbital robotic servicing satellite set for 2026 launch

DARPA’s Robotic Servicing of Geosynchronous Satellites (RSGS) mission is now targeted for a summer 2026 launch.

The Mission Robotic Vehicle will test robotic servicing capabilities for GEO satellites, including inspection, repair, relocation, and debris removal.

SpaceLogistics is leading integration on the program, with support from partners including the Naval Research Laboratory and NASA.

If successful, the mission could extend satellite lifetimes, reduce outages, and help make geostationary orbit more reusable and maintainable.
