Bolt Graphics tapes out its first Zeus GPU test chip on TSMC 12nm — firm touts 17x lower cost of compute

Bolt Graphics has taped out its first Zeus GPU test chip on TSMC’s 12nm FFC process.

The chip will be used for benchmarking as the startup moves beyond FPGA emulation and toward a planned Q4 2027 production ramp.

Bolt is still marketing Zeus as a lower-cost option for compute-heavy workloads such as HPC, rendering, and electromagnetic simulation.

The test silicon gives customers something real to evaluate ahead of a future commercial launch.
