Qualcomm is set to raise chip prices in September, and your next gadget upgrade could bear the brunt

Qualcomm reportedly told major customers that Snapdragon chip prices will rise by double digits starting September 1, 2026.

The company said it can no longer absorb supplier cost increases tied to semiconductor and memory shortages driven by AI data center demand.

Because Snapdragon chips power phones, PCs, wearables, and other devices, the higher costs could ripple into 2027 product prices.

That could make upcoming consumer electronics from brands like Xiaomi, OnePlus, and Samsung more expensive for buyers.
