Windows is finally killing off the Control Panel

Microsoft is gradually phasing out the Windows Control Panel in Windows 11 and moving settings into the Settings app.

The change is happening slowly because some device and driver options still depend on the older Control Panel interface.

Microsoft also plans UI, performance, and reliability improvements for File Explorer, the Start menu, Command Prompt, and other Windows 11 components.

Those updates are expected to begin with the April release and should improve consistency, speed, and dark mode support.
