Apple set to overtake Dell as MacBook shipments rise against market decline

Sigmaintell forecasts Apple will ship about 28 million MacBooks in 2026, enough to pass Dell and become the No. 3 laptop maker worldwide.

That would put Apple behind only Lenovo and HP, even as global notebook shipments are expected to fall 8% to 181.1 million units.

Apple’s gains highlight how its tightly integrated hardware, macOS ecosystem, and supply-chain control are helping it take share in a shrinking market.

Rising DRAM and component costs are pressuring rivals, while Apple’s pricing and unified memory approach appear to be supporting demand.
