'Incognito Chat' launches, enabling completely private conversations with Meta AI that deliver 'true privacy protection'

Meta is rolling out Incognito Chat for WhatsApp and the Meta AI app, a private AI mode for sensitive conversations.

The feature uses Private Processing in a secure environment Meta says it cannot access, with chats not saved by default and session data deleted after use.

Meta also plans a related Sidechat feature in WhatsApp in the coming months, with a broader rollout expected over the next several months.

The move raises the privacy bar for consumer AI chat tools by limiting platform visibility into prompts and replies.
