A single Micron SSD can now store 245TB and use half the power of hard drives

Micron unveiled the 6600 ION enterprise SSD, reaching up to 245TB in a single drive.

The company says it uses about half the power of comparable HDD-based storage and takes far less rack space.

The new drive sets a commercial capacity record for SSDs and targets AI and hyperscale data centers.

Built on PCIe Gen5, NVMe, and G9 QLC NAND, it comes in E3.L and U.2 form factors.
