Apple winding down iPhone Upgrade Program: report

Apple is reportedly preparing a new Apple Upgrade leasing program for iPhone buyers, set to launch on July 28 with Klarna.

At the same time, Apple will stop accepting new signups for its current iPhone Upgrade Program and standard financing options.

The new plan is expected to differ from today’s upgrade program by not including AppleCare coverage.

The shift could change how customers finance iPhones and what they get with future installment purchases.
