Robotic 3D printers complete Europe’s largest 12-apartment building in just 34 days

French social housing operator Plurial Novilia completed ViliaSprint2, a three-story, 12-unit building in France using on-site 3D concrete printing.

The printing phase took 34 days and made it the largest 3D-printed apartment building in Europe by floor area.

The project highlights how construction automation could help ease housing and labor shortages.

It also shows the remaining hurdles around building codes, reinforcement, and cost before wider adoption.
