Canonical releases Ubuntu 26.04 LTS with a focus on enterprise

Canonical has released Ubuntu 26.04 LTS, a long-term support build aimed at enterprise deployments.

The release adds Linux kernel 7.0, more Rust-based components, broader live patching, and Wayland by default.

It also strengthens security with better encryption and confidential computing features.

Canonical is positioning the distro for modern cloud, hardware, and AI/ML workloads with official CUDA and ROCm support.
