SpeakOn’s dictation device is a good idea marred by platform limitations

SpeakOn’s $129 MagSafe dictation device aims to turn speech into text with a companion iOS keyboard app.

It adds AI transcription, translation, and tone-changing edits, but the hands-on review found weak mic pickup and inconsistent audio performance.

Battery standby and overall system usability are also limited, and there is no Mac support yet.

The product suggests a new AI voice-input hardware category, but cross-platform gaps may slow adoption.
