GameStop CEO Confirms eBay Acquisition Proposal

GameStop has proposed an unsolicited, non-binding acquisition of eBay at $125 per share, valuing the company at about $55.5 billion.

eBay said it received the offer and its board will review it.

Ryan Cohen said GameStop could pursue a hostile bid if eBay’s board rejects the proposal.

The deal could reshape two struggling marketplaces and create a stronger rival to Amazon, but GameStop’s financing capacity is in question.
