George Clooney, Tom Hanks, and Meryl Streep back new ‘Human Consent Standard’ for AI licensing

RSL Media launched the Human Consent Standard, an extension of its RSL Standard, to let rights holders set AI permissions for their likeness, voice, characters, brands, and creative works.

The system will be discoverable via robots.txt and linked to a registry that verifies identity and turns declarations into machine-readable consent signals.

Hollywood figures and groups including George Clooney, Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Viola Davis, Creative Artists Agency, and the Music Artists Coalition are backing the effort.

The standard aims to give creators and public figures a practical way to signal whether AI systems can train on or use their identity and work.
