Holocaust denial is creeping into Dutch classrooms via social media, survey shows

A NOS Stories survey of more than 190 Dutch secondary teachers says Holocaust falsehoods are increasingly reaching students online.

Teachers reported shallow knowledge of the genocide and, in some cases, minimization or distortion of the Holocaust in class.

The problem is being fueled by social media and AI-generated content, including misleading posts on TikTok.

Memorial institutions and recent AI missteps have also raised alarms about how hard this misinformation is for students to spot.
