Video: Unitree launches the world’s first production-ready optionally manned robot

Unitree unveiled the GD01, a 500-kilogram mecha-style robot vehicle that can switch between bipedal and quadrupedal movement and includes a pilot cockpit.

The company shared a demo video but disclosed only limited technical details, while setting the price at 3.9 million yuan.

Unitree also warned users not to attempt dangerous modifications, underscoring the system’s experimental nature.

The launch reflects China’s accelerating push in low-cost, production-ready humanoid and mecha robotics for real-world mobility use cases.
