US FTC reportedly launches antitrust probe into Arm after its launch of its own AGI CPU — regulators investigate whether the chip designer is restricting architecture access to rivals

Bloomberg reports the U.S. FTC is probing whether Arm is restricting rivals’ access to its architecture licenses or offering them lower-quality designs.

The investigation comes after Arm entered the data-center chip market with its own AGI CPU and as fallout continues from its dispute with Qualcomm.

Regulators are weighing whether Arm can compete directly in chips without disadvantaging customers and competitors that depend on its architecture.
