Refik Anadol On Turning Oxford Archives Into A Living AI Dreamscape

Refik Anadol is unveiling “Archive Dreaming,” an AI-driven installation at Oxford that turns botanical archives into an immersive digital nature artwork.

The piece was trained on nearly 68,000 images from Oxford’s Bodleian Libraries and Herbaria using Anadol’s AI systems, including the Large Nature Model.

It will be installed at the new Stephen A. Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities as a public artwork.

The project highlights how archives and cultural institutions can use generative AI to reinterpret historic collections and expand access to data.
