Google’s new face unlock hardware reportedly not debuting in Pixel 11 after all

A leak says Google’s new in-display face unlock hardware, Project Toscana, will miss the Pixel 11 launch.

The low-light IR-based upgrade is reportedly not ready, so it may be delayed to a later Pixel generation.

If accurate, Pixel 11 would ship without the long-awaited biometric and convenience boost Google had planned.

The delay could also leave Google further behind Apple’s Face ID in face unlock capability.
