Alibaba has launched its new foundation model, Qwen3.8-Max, with 2.4 trillion parameters.

According to the report, it performs on par with or better than some top closed models in third-party rankings and real-world tests.

The model is highlighted for strengths in reasoning, coding, long-context tasks, and multimodal scenarios.
