Anthropic finally beat OpenAI in business AI adoption — but 3 big threats could erase its lead

Anthropic has overtaken OpenAI in U.S. business AI adoption for the first time, according to Ramp data.

Anthropic’s share rose to 34.4% in April 2026, ahead of OpenAI’s 32.3%, driven largely by rapid growth in Claude Code.

Overall business AI usage also topped 50%, underscoring how quickly AI is becoming standard in corporate workflows.

The report warned Anthropic’s lead could be fragile if higher costs, compute limits, or token-based pricing pressures intensify.
