Budget mobile carriers to launch QoS plans from August... expected to ease consumers' telecom bill burden

The government has announced measures to boost the MVNO market, allowing QoS plans that keep speeds steady after data runs out starting in August.

Wholesale fees for some 5G MVNO plans will be lowered and wholesale access will expand, improving price competitiveness for providers.

The package also includes support for eSIM adoption, safer used-phone trading, broader low- and mid-priced self-subsidized devices, and full MVNO development.

Industry expects the moves to strengthen MVNOs as a broader telecom alternative, not just a low-cost option.
