Seminole Nation Bans Hyperscale Data Centers on Its Land

The Seminole Nation's Tribal Council unanimously voted to ban hyperscale data centers and generative AI development on its lands.

A tech startup had requested a nondisclosure agreement and letter of intent to build a data center on the reservation.

Tribal members and local residents raised environmental concerns at a March 3 assembly, and Honor the Earth supported the council's action.
