Meta’s Smart Glasses Reset: Why The New ‘Blayzer’ And ‘Scriber’ Are A Prescription Game-Changer

Blayzer Optics and Scriber Optics are new, prescription-first frames in the Gen 2 series with longer battery life, an improved camera, and a lighter, slimmer profile.

Pricing: the Blayzer and Scriber start at $499 (from £429); Gen 2 range models are priced $379–$459 (£379–£459). Available at U.S. optical retailers now and internationally from April 14.

Lens options include single vision, progressive and Transitions; frame colors include matte black, transparent dark olive, transparent stone beige, and seasonal Transparent Shiny Peach.

The built-in camera can take photos and shoot 3K video, and it works with the Meta AI app to describe what you’re looking at.

New software features include hands-free nutrition tracking (log meals by looking and asking the AI for a calorie estimate, new for 2026), speakers for music and navigation directions, and expanded live translation that adds Japanese, Mandarin and Arabic and speaks translations in English.
