Google Vids gets a big AI push to ease video generation with some cool new tricks

Google updated Vids with AI features including directable and custom avatars, Veo 3.1 integration, screen recording, and YouTube export.

Veo 3.1 enables text- or image-prompted short clip generation with 10 free 8-second generations per month.

Users can type actions for avatars and create customized avatars while preserving consistent face and voice.

Vids includes a Chrome-extension screen recorder to capture screen, voice, or camera for tutorials and demos.
